Title: omega radio/plug
Post by: mick1 on 25 November 2009, 16:07:56
Hi can any one help, I bought an omega mv6 but someone had removed  original the radio i put an after market unit in but didnt like it as the controls dont work so bought a second hand philips/bose onestar with phone it came out of an omega so assumed it would fit. 2 of the plugs do but the 1 that controls the screen and steering wheel controls wont, there is more pins on the radio than holes in the plug and the pins are the wrong way round, is there any thing i can do about this or can i get an adapter?

Not as simple as that - fitment of that unit may require a new display and telematics units - it certainly is not as straightforward as a plug or adaptor.

Someone will be along shortly with a list of what you need I suspect

1998 is pre-facelift so single din unit.

If you have bought a head unit with on-star on it for a single din slot I can only assume it's a CCRT700 and will require a GID display

On an MV6 I would imagine the original would have been a CCR600 with MID display. CCR600 was a 26 Way ISO plug IIRC so would match the loom / plug you have found as I believe the CCRT700 would be a 36 Way plug.
