I would like to know if its possible (straight forward) to fit the reverse parking sensors to my 97 cdx
I have bought a 99 elite for bits and wanna use the bumpers so it would be nice if the included reversing sensors worked
anyone done it ?

Straigth forward job...I have fitted a set on my Elite..was advised to buy the best set you can afford ,so I went for Cobra as understand they are those favoured by most manufacturers as standard fit.
Just take rear bumper off, drill 4 holes, fit them as required and connect the wires to the buzzer and then to the reversing light wire..job done.Have noticed that it is wise to give them a wipe ever so often this time of year as sure dirt does effect their performance. They are a usefull aid ,but NO substitute for have a good look before reversing.
I also fitted a switch on the feed to the buzzer as somedays it can get on your nerves, especially with a car full of kids.As my car is very dark green I didn,t need to paint them ,but must say they look really nasty on light coloured bumpers not colour matched..looks like car has spots.
Best of luck with a simple job.

We also fit Cobra as the "ones of choice" and have never had much trouble with them, unlike the Steelmate sensors which gave so many false and incorrect readings.
A couple of trade tips though -
The beeper can indeed be very irritating in an estate due to its very loud volume, but if you wrap a bit of tape around the beeper first before mounting it behind a panel, the sound is far more discreet.
Also, we mount an on/off switch in the boot side panels in line with the power, so that when you are towing, you can disable the sensors to prevent from them going mad with a trailer or caravan attatched.

I found an electronic module I couldn't identify up behind the spare wheel in my 2003 Elite saloon. Judging by where the noise seems to come from when reversing I think that must be the reversing sensor control/sounder unit.
Unless someone posts the wiring diagrams I think you are going to have to unpick the wiring loom to find where it is fed from.

Most reverse packs have six plugs - one for each of the sensors, one for the beeper, and only one left that has a black and red wire.
Black goes to earth and red goes to the +ve side of the reversing lights
Exceptionally easy to wire in.
