Title: immobiliser light

Can anyone help me, I have a 2.2 CPX  Y reg. The immobiliser light has been coming on intermittently - I took it to a main dealer who reset the system and I was told if the light still comes on them I will have to replace the complete works at a cost of £850.00 and obviously the light still comes one!!! Can anyone advise me
