Hi Guys,
the driver's door on my 2002 2.2 CD has been acting up a bit lately, the other doors lock and unlock on the keyfob but the drivers door has needed the key in the lock to operate. Now the driver's door is locked and won't open at all, the interior handle makes no difference either.
Before I start hacking the door card to bits is there a way around this to at least get the door open?
All help appreciated

pull nob up at same time as pulling door handel. works most times
-
Cheers but I just tried that and the 'stard won't budge. It's as if the deadlock is on as both the interior and exterior handles don't seem to be moving any mechanism.

I had the same on one of mine, just turn the key fairly hard in the lock, and you should hear a clicking noise. The button will still be down but the door will open. So; turn it the way you would to open it, and when it goes no further, quickly put pressure as hard as you can. Worked everytime for me :y When I was waiting for a replacement door motor, I had to do it 15 or so times to access the car.

Eureka! Thanks Josh.
I did as you said. Didn't hear the clicking sound but turned a bit harder and there was a 'click'. The button didn't come up but the door could be opened. To lock it again was the same but obviously the other direction, a 'click' but no button movement. It seems something has come adrift so I'll order a new motor and sort next weekend. At least I don't have to rip the door card to shreds or limbo into the car from the passenger seat - not good at my age!

Glad to hear it :y
The part number for the motor you'll need is 90493702 and there's a great guide composed by tunnie for changing the motor.

Again, cheers Josh. :y
Yep, aware of Tunnie's guide.
Guess what I'm doing next weekend? ;D
