hi all can anyone give me any idea what holds the radio cage in iam trying to remove it so as i can replace climate control bulbs thank you
-
Some (but not all) will have a single screw in the rear of the cage - as you look into the hole with radio removed, its in the middle.
Once this is removed (if fitted) its then usually a case of a good tug and it should come out
-
The connectors will just clip in from the rear, fingers and possibly a small screwdriver should do.
The cage itself is removed by twising the metal tabs that have been deformed. These are halfway up the height of the cage and just inside the long length and opposite each other. Using a small screwdriver just bend the vertical sections out until they clear the plastic vertical of the apeture. You have to do both and the cage will then slide out.
You must be careful doing this as these thin sectons (about 1mm) will eventually break off. When you put it back you will need to deform them back to hold the cage in place.
Hope the explanation is clear and helps ........

its the press out tabs that hold the cage in once the screw and plugs are removed. I found it impossible to see exactly which tabs where holding it so i bent the sides in top and bottom. Its very soft metal, but with some razor sharp edges, it will bend back very easily. :-)
