please,
any takers on this one someone must have a non standard and still have tr/m and steerin controls.
-
would think you would have to buy a kit to make it work, some one here later will tell you as i dont know that model sony and there are dif kits.
-
Just sorted this out on my facelift.
It can be done quite simple BUT you'll need to take a trip in to Halfords.
You'll need an audio lead from Halfords. Should be the PC99-X06 plus a little lead, also from Halfords to run from the back of your headunit into the PC99-X06.
Tell them what head unit you have and they should know what you need.
-
Or you can order them from ebay.
I ordered mine for about 20 pounds.
Note that this is cheaper version of the steering wheel control device sou you'll loose the middle line on the car display when the radio is turned on.
There is also the version which suppurts station info on display but costs more than double the price and is harder to find.
Not sure about trafficmaster ( don't have it here).
-
Trafficmaster just mutes the radio using the mobile phone input so it might well just be that it needs connecting to the right pins for the head unit.
Steering wheel controls are possible using adaptors for some head units, as said. Not sure what's available for this model, though.

One important info.
You can fit aftermarket adapter for steering wheel controls ONLY if the stereo has remote capability.
For Sony that usually means having one small headphone jack 3.5mm at the back of the unit
-
Yep..Thats what I did. Halfords also supplied the little lead to run from a phono socket on the back of my Sony Xplod unit into the PC99-X06.
If the new stereo hasn't got the phono socket on the back...you MAY be flabbered.

will pop it out of capri in new year. somethin to do on those cold nights. manual says a sony remote can be fitted does not say anythin about harnesses to existing controls. will look around the well known auction site
-
seen the lead mentioned. it says omegas to 2000. mine is 2001. will it fit or is the harness different
-
I think it wont.
There were two types as far as I can remember the one for single din radios (prefacelift) and other for facelift double din radios (ccr 2005 2006 etc). Wait a couple of minutes I'll try to find what you need
-
Actually I think I said the wrong information
This one should work on the link bellow
