Hi
I cant seem to find anything obviously wrong with the sensors so I was wondering if there was anyway of testing the sensors to see if one is faulty.
If not whats the next step in trying to get to the reason why i am having the warning come up on my display?
Your answers would be most appreciated.

apparently if nothing is visually wrong the next step is to get it on tech 2 via a member here as there are to many possibles. Update your profile with rough location and we can direct you or visit The Boys tech2 site at the bottom of one of his posts.

What Chris says, and it could also be a level motor in either of the headlights. There was a photo of the rusty remnants of what had been a motor posted here at one time. :y

You can watch the voltage from the sensors using a Tech 2 (could probably break into the connector and use a multimeter, in honesty).
If the sensors appear OK, the push rods are attached and the connectors have been checked and given a squirt of switch cleaner I'd say next step would be to connect a Tech 2 and see what the ECU is complaining about and have a look at the readings from the sensors.
Motors on the headlights have been known to leak and go rotten inside too, so they might be worth a check. EDIT: What AndyB said, in fact. :-[

I would get it plugged into a diag computer, that should pinpoint why the ECU aint happy.
Where about are you? someone local may be able to help :y

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm in Four Marks on the Winchester side of Alton or there's TheBoy who's in Brackley. Probably not much in it, but both an hour and a bit away, I'd guess. :-/

Entwood is in Wilts, seem to recall he had a laptop based reader before he had the standalone unit?

He does ..but its only an ELM327.. so extremely limited in what it will do (which is why I got the maxcscan) .. and it certainly won't do HIDs .. :(

I was the one who posted the rusty insides of the motor :'(
Its normally quiet obvious if you have a bad one, they are easy to remove after you take the headlamp out, if you see orange around the pins then its time for a new one :-[
Should be fairly easy to find a used one on here tho.

So how much would I be looking at for one of you guys to plug a diagnostic tool into my car.

Whilst you're there, budget to get the gearbox (if an Auto) and climate updates done too... Makes the trip much more worthwhile :y :y
