Hi
On my 1998 Elite I have the clock on info display with the two little buttons to set the date and time above the display.
Thing is when I press the both button to set the time (as always showing 0.00) nothing happens.
Also not sure if related but in the info display on car start up it shows Mem and it searches all the time untill I press a station button on the radio.
Is there some kind of memory feature which is not working or a battery etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tune the radio to a proper RDS station (BBC stations are pretty good) and the Date/Time should set automatically within about 5 minutes :y :y

Has the radio been changed? If so, need to set manually. Press and hold left button (I think!) for 3s, then the other button changes flashing value, original button moves to next value.
If orig radio, tune to Radio2 for 15 mins ;D

Must be original... He said the display shows Mem and starts searching until he presses a radio station preset button.
Incidentally... Mine does that too if tuned to a station with a weak signal :y :y

Does the radio actually play anything once it has done a search? My suspicion is that the fragile aerial lead on the back of the headunit has broken / fallen out.

Does Radio 2 work for rds clock? I set the radio in a work van to auto do the time via rds as it always wrong. Didnt get anything from Radio 2. Set it to Radio 1 and it instantly updated the time :y

Must do because I've never listened to Radio 1 in the car and mine sets on RDS :y :y
I believe all BBC Radio stations do RDS Time

All BBC RDS stations transmit the time, but the frequency can vary, some up to 15 mins.
Classic FM is the fastest to update, as continually carries much of the extra RDS and TMC information used by the other channels, with Radio 4 being next.

Have tried the button settings above the clock display - no joy.
No joy with the rds setting either - had radio one on for an hour and didnt set.
Any more tips please?
