The old guy i bought my car off had some work done. The mechanic disconnected the battery and long story cut short there was no code so the mechanic guy decoded the head unit.
all was well until the head unit occasionally doesnt switch on. In which case you have to pull out one of the yellow fuses under the dash and plug it back in again (its the same fuse that covers all the dash lights/power etc.) once this is done, the head unit works fine but may not work randomly once the cars been switched off. (until you do the fuse trick)
any ideas? it only happened since the unit became decoded (according to the old guy)

Model number of head unit?

its the one with the 4 disc in dash cd player CCr2006?

Sounds like it may have been badly decoded or the fascia contacts are damaged as a result of incorrect radio removal
Both are quite common, and both can be rectified if you want to send the stereo over to me to investigate further
