Title: Diagnostic socket wiring
Post by: MartinP on 17 February 2010, 23:01:23
I have looked at the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual and I can not see the diagnostic socket.

As some people are aware, I have a 3.0 ltr engine in a kit car, the ECU & fuel relays are still connected and will be running in it's standard form.

Is the any mileage in having the diagnostic socket wired up?

Which wires come from the socket?

I have 2 multi pin plugs connected to the engine, Brown & white.

I have traced & labelled most of the wires to/from various sensors.

thoughts & suggestions

would think it be easyer to just get a complete wiring loom think some scrapys charge about £10-20, some even have them in on a shelf.

I`d certainly wire it up -

Half the fun of kit cars is the tinkering about, and the socket would make some of it a little easier

MartinP is fitting engine to kit car, so doesn't need to go to town on it :y

He just needs 0v (4 and 5)
12v (16 I think)
Motoronic diags (7)
Flash diags (6)

Thanks for the link.

There are a few breakers on here so may not have to climb up a pile of cars.  ;) ;)
