Title: Heater/AC fan wont work for 5 to 10 mins
Post by: Homer_S on 01 March 2010, 13:55:49
Hi All.

My heater/AC fan does not work for about 5 to 10 mins when the car is cold ie first thing in the morning. After driving for a while it works and continues to work if I switch off then come back to the car. but if left overnight or all day without starting I get the problem. I have tried changing the temp and pressing all the buttons, but it refused to work until it wants to. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
This is on my 98 V6 CDX Saloon.

Cheers

Mark

Where abouts can I find the controller?

I read elsewhere that you can reset the climate control by pressing auto and off together. I tried that last night and the fan came on, also worked first thing this morning. Maybe its a coincidence but seems to have done the trick. Fingers crossed.  :)

Does it work in morning if you manually turn the fan speed down to lower settings, eg 1/2/3/4?

Ideally needs a good code reader with live data on it to diagnose it properly before you buy a new fan controller (bloody expensive!).

Also worth trying a reset on the climate (press/hold OFF and AUTO for 10s).
