Cps or maplins mate,and i beleive you can use the three pin ones,as the old ones are four. :y

Yes, 3-pin ones are fine.

dont think anyone has been able to find an exact like for like replacement for the soldered in ones ...?

If you replace 4 pin with 3 pin what connections are soldered

You just solder the single pin in to the closest one of the two vacant holes - they are joined by a track on the PCB anyway :y
The single pin is on the -ve side of the battery, so just fit the replacements the same way round... IIRC, the polarity is marked on the circuit board too  :y
