Hi my 1998 Omega Elite has just started displaying "CHECK" :( in the bottom right hand corner of the MID.
Any idea's folks ??

check is normal until you press the brake(it carnt check the system until youve pressed the pedal)if after that check still is lite up its not happy about something and it will tell you what.IE check oil level, coolant level etc etc:y

Thanks mate :y....will pop out and have a look later ....if it ever stops raining ! maybe I should have bought an ark !!!

no problem,noah ;D

as above, its part of the check control system. As long as it goes out after brake pedal is pressed, your all good :y

'Check' is always there, but not always illuminated, if that makes sense. As said above it is part of the start up system, but it should also display what is wrong. This indicator usually remains until you 'remove' it by pressing the computer controls, but will show up again when you turn off the ignition.
For example - 'brakelight check' is the obvious first check and if all is not well the words remain on the screen. The check light remains lit, but you can continue to scroll the other options on the computer and those words disappear. When you turn the car off the words will reappear to remind you of the problem. The other option of course is that the light is shining in the panel and giving the appearance of the check sign being lit! If the check light is on then there should be an accompanying message.

The Estate has gone through 2 MOTs ok with this fault - as long as the dipped beams are correctly aligned it will pass!!! It has now been fixed (broken wire!!)
