i have seen these headlights on ebay de http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300421195950&fromMakeTrack=true i have asked wether they can be used on rh drive cars but if i rember the arm inside a projector only turns the beam pattern flat not dip left or right am i correct ? now i wonder if i could use the projector lense from a spair set i have to give the correct pattern ?
-
Your thoughts on the projector arm is correct, it would not make it a RHD headlight.
I see where you are coming from about bodging a set together to make a RHD light, but wouldn`t it simply be easier to buy two sets of small angel eye rings and glue them inside your existing headlights?
the rings are generally less than a fiver each from China and come in a range of colours and sizes - a damn sight cheaper than starting off with a set of expensive headlights
not sure what size you need, but this is what I am thinking

Just has to be blue! :D :D ;)
-
Bright White would look good, what ever you do don't do what BMW do and put yellowish coloured ones in.
-
To OP, no cannot change from LHD to RHD.
To everyone else commenting on gay blue LEDs, :-X

......
but you'be OK with permanent flat beam ..... asymetrical? Some cars are like it by default. ;)

Yes, but they are supposed to be set low. OK for occasional use, but not for constant use....

Its not the angel eyes I was after it was the black surround more than anything

My buggy originally had angel eyes from a US Motorcycle as they looked good at the time and I too thought the flat beam would be ok.
However, the MOT guy always passed it, but was not entirely happy about the "flat beam" and I must admit that driving around the country lanes with the "flat beam" is nowhere near as good as that little "kick up" from a correct RHD set of headlights. Just converted mine to a proper RHD set now, and the difference is amazing. But bear in mind that my buggy does not go anywhere near as fast as an Omega, and I struggled with teh light from the flat beam - I would hate to be driving with that at speed or in anger.
:(

Nought queer as folk :-?
;D
Be boring if we all liked the same thing :y

Never been very good with things like that it will end up looking crap or not finished if I try that lol

I think I know what you mean. SWMBO's Smart Roadster had a nearside lamp/bulb that wasn't clipped in its holder in the headlight correctly, so shone anywhere but infront of you :-?. Correctly fitted, the difference was most noticable :y

Just a quick question on the subject of headlights - I take it 94-99 PFL lights won't fit the 99-00 FL cars.
If not, can they be made to fit, or the panel work altered to suit the lights?
-
FL started with MY2000 ;)
Think they will fit, but look poor as the shape is different to match the different bonnet lines.

I believe both cars have the same wings so a change of grille, bonnet & bumper would probably do it ie face lift front ...... but then it's look like an Astra G ::) ::) ::) ;)

Had an Rasta G as you know, Andy - my FL looks nowt like one!
OK, so physically, the earlier lights would screw into a facelift without issue, but the contour of the lens is different to suit the bonnet, that right?
Can one fit FL lenses to PFL headlight bodies?
If you know what I mean! :D

Never tried, but I'd not be surprised if they did. GM altered the lens of the Astra F when they fitted the 'V' grille but used the same headlight body :y

there's definitely a 'family look' between the two cars :y

Am I missing something? Why not just fit the correct lights?

Pete is a Yarkshire man ... I suspect there's a cost saving somewhere ::) ::) ;)

Not at all, but I want some black lights, and crap with spray cans.
I can't find any to fit a facelift, but shedloads for a PFL, hence my question.
Not that I have to justify myself to a Lancastrian.........

Anyone got an old PFL headlight so I can try it?
-
Nobody?
