Title: CCRT700 telephone probs
Post by: Sixstring on 04 May 2010, 11:42:16
I have the bose CCRT700 system in my miggy. Works well, nice sound, except for the fact that even with a new voda payg sim card in it, the telephone loses the number of the sim. The display says "VODAFONE UK", and sometimes displays the tel no, but mostly doesnt, and it wont dial out. Then, for no apparent reason, it displays the number, and works well.

Any ideas??

Sounds like dirty contacts on the sim card reader

Mine works well but I must confess I am tempted to rip it out and fit a CID... Time for a chat with TB ::)

Well if you can get a CID at least it will fit in the facelift estate (when you get it) but you'll need to change the head unit from a NCDR11/1500 to a NCDC2013/15

Not convinced I'll be getting the estate TBH... Keep batting it backwards and forwards. Is it worth changing? :-/ :-/

Errr... I couldn't sell my Elite after all the work I have done on it (plus i intend to LPG it in the future  ::) ) so I bought the Estate as a cheaper run around for now and the Mrs will eventually have it to replace her thirsty 4WD that costs £450 a year to tax  >:(

Bought SWMBO a Panda last year... £30/year to tax so can't justify it that way. Estate would be a 3.2 Elite, LPG converted (well, will be ::)), and the current saloon would be sold. But... I've done all the work on the saloon... Everything works and all the common problems have been sorted. Would I end up doing the same again?

How true ::) :D :D

To the OP... Sorry for the Hijack!

My CCRT works fine, although every now and then it plays up when dialling out and does something strange. Power off, remove SIM, reinstall and switch on and it's fine ;)

If you have one that works well, all well and good :y :y, the functionality is good, everything controllable remotely, good clear display :y

I was always having to yank mine out for an hour to reset it.  They do appear to be pretty tempremental.

Don't believe Lazydocker that his works - he has to pull it out to do any engine diagnostics ;D

True... But not really a major problem ;)
