Car is 1999 T reg. 2 litre petrol maual saloon
Recently, when I lock or unlock the car with the flipper, the n/s amber lights stay on, not flashing. If I flip on/off long enough I can get them off, but it gets ever more difficult.
I thought it was the CL/alarm relay behind driver's side kick panel, but am not so sure now. The black/white lead, which I thought from the wiring diagram was the culprit, in fact is 12v positive most of the time, only dipping when the lamps flash. I conclude mine is a later wiring diagram car. This means it has a K46 relay which flashes. when the white/black leads goes earthy.
Am I right? Where is the relay? Sounds like somewhere behind the glovebox.

I think this problem has been discussed before and yes it was the relay behind the glove box.
Quickest way to find it seems to involve removing the glove box and locking/unlocking the car while listening carefully.
You are going to need a replacement relay. Hopefully someone who knows will pop up with the part number (or someone who is breaking a car can sell you one)
