Title: Heated seat fault and seat out of position.
Post by: peteelite on 26 May 2010, 11:05:17
2.5 V6 Elite estate 2000.The driver seat does not warm up despite fuses OK and light coming up on dashboard stat.I suspect heater pads burnt out . is there a point I can stick my ohmmeter on to to test for continuity.
Also passenger seat moves on motors but will not go all the way forward leaving not enough room in the back for rear seat to fold flat ??

Any ideas. :-/

My facelift MV6 has heated cloth, but until today and seeing this post the only experience of heated seats was a from a cavalier turbo heated cloth interior. Its seats made passengers feel like they had had an 'accident'..

Turned them on today to try to catch my brother out and he didn't notice.. Should they be mega, or are they more delicate?! Even on 5! I cant say mine are knackered, but I hope the OP's question can shed some light heat on mine.

there is a plug under the seat  2 one for the seat motors and one for the heated seat, also in the bottom piller under the plastic side cover that has plugs on it to, as for seat check the runners may be a bit of lose change stopping it moving all the way :y

If the pads are burnt out, these may be of interest

Same here Pete...I bought a set before Christmas but again havent got around to finding the spare cash for local upholsterer to fit them in for me.They look a decent bit of kit and think they will be a better bet than new GM heater pads.
Did have a chaat with a guy who had fitted them to his M/F Elite and he didn,t use the switches or relays as he just cut into the existing wiring under the seat and then used existing dash switch, but reading the details agin they have a dual heat option so assume they could be used with dash switch and then seperate switch provided to keep things neat/tidy.

Thats what I was looking to do on my Facelift but that has 5 heat settings so I might fit them to the back seats instead :)

There will be a coin stuck in the runners ;) I've seen a £1 coin mashed by being stuck in a runner :o
