There is a fuse for the front seats, I'll see if I can dig out details....

No, they use shared fuses.

F15 and F29

Guessing there is a circuit interuption between the switch and the heating controller (in the seat).  Meter time!

The electric height adjusters work ok on the seats,,,,

just strange the switches dont light up and the seats dont warm up...

they did come out of a 2002 year car so should be ok... :(

That's interesting, I added a new interior to the 2001 'Y' ex police Omega I have. Slotted the heated seat switches in, and the new seats worked straight away.
However, that was after a new radio cage fitted and wood trim and investigation to the wiring behind the switches.
Have you taken the centre console out yet? That would be a place I'd start given the fact it's ex police. The drivers side on mine had been cut, whereas the passeneger side hadn't. Simply reconnected it and it worked.

I Know plod should be walking the beat instead of cruising in an Omega (5 series BMW/Jag these days) but what was the thinking in cutting supply to heated seats ? surely more trouble than its worth..or did they need the power supply for something else ?

Supply could be used for anything really, +12v ignition switched, ground, and illumination ould all be used by a radio or other in vehicle system

My heated seats on FL MV6 light up but don't feel like they are on particularly. Seat electrics work. Is pad burn out normal?

I had a police cav turbo heated cloth interior once and its seats got so hot you had to turn them off.. after feeling like you'd had an accident... but even on 5 in the mega I can hardly feel anything... and I've tried the 3rd party kits in other cars and they seem pants too. How HOT should setting 5 be?! Is it not working, or am I just loosing my mind!  :D
