Title: ECU
Post by: des.allen on 30 June 2010, 13:59:37
Hi All, how easy is it to get into the connector for the ECU? i.e do all the wires fall everywhere when you take the plastic cover off?
The reason I ask is that after talking to Kevin Wood I think someone has wired my LPG up wrong! The rpm brown wire has been connected to the brown with skyblue stripe wire that goes to the ICV.
After listening to Kevin and a bit of online research the brown wire should go to the green rpm wire (pin 43)
Thaks in advance  Des :)

Not too difficult. You'll find a metal lever that runs across the plastic hood on the connector. Lift the lever and it will unlock the connector and prise it away from the socket. Then there are 3 screws IIRC to remove the plastic hood from the connector. Pin numbers are marked on the base and the RPM signal will indeed be a light green wire on pin 43. :y

Do you have mapping software / cable for the LPG system? Just thinking that the system might need a tweak if it has been calibrated using totally the wrong input for RPM.

Actually - are you sure that wire goes to the ICV not the coil pack?

The wire is going to the ICV, and all it says on the tartarini wireing diagram I found is a brown wire that goes to rpm.http://www.remixbg.com/Documentation/Documents/Gazovi%20uredbi/Tartarini/English/ENG%20-%20SGI%20Pneumatic%20Schemes%20TARTARINI%20T-03%20%28March%2005%29.pdf
I dont have any software etc but I can get it reset if need be :y

hmmm I just disconnected ICV and it runs great???

Update; I have just disconnected the brown wire that was going to the ICV and on LPG it is running and ticking over exactly the same as on petrol.
Now I am confused!

Hmm. Wonder if it's picking RPM up from the injector signals?

No harm in connecting it to pin 43 though.

Whoever fitted that system didn't check his work very thoroughly!

Thanks for the advice Kevin :y I am going to take it for a long run today and see what happens, I may leave it disconnected if all seems ok.
