Title: Crazy Key Fob
Post by: Terbs on 11 July 2010, 21:16:24
Hi,
I have a central locking problem, which I think I know where the problem lies.
When locking with the fob, it immediately unlocks again. Not bothered about that as I can lock on the fob providing I lock six times. Never fails on the sixth lock.
Does anybody know why it is always six times...never more, never less. Is there some sort of timing device incorporated. Obviously, it makes you wonder why it never fails on six, but will not lock and stay locked prior to six.  :o :o

What about doing it the old fashioned way with the key in the door? :-/  It sounds like a mechanical problem to me, ie the driver's door lock mechanism needs a good lub'ing.

Know what you mean Andy...but there is a wiring fault in between to the door and pillar. Opening the drivers door and waggling the wires sometimes works the lot, or all bar drivers door, or drivers door only. Have to strip it out to see.
 :( :( :(
Its the locking/unlocking six times that baffles me.
As I said earlier, at the moment, the scenario is to lock the drivers door with the key, then fob it six timers for the rest. ;)
Don't half get some strange looks, but I act as though its a normal thing....lol  ;D ;D

Just remembered....once it is locked, you can unlock it with the fob (except the drivers door which stays locked) and then open the boot or rear door, close them.... then lock it on the fob with the first press :o :o :o :o :o
