Title: CD player not working
Post by: Fazeel on 07 August 2010, 00:39:30
the 4 cd changer that i have in this isnt working.
First of all it doesnt detect any cd in any one of them, secondly if it does, it doesnt play it properly like as if its getting stubi or something,

I dont know where the problem is, i mean inside somewhere or the cd deck thingy ??

Has somebody been using CDRs in it? These units fail early if CDRs have been used.

The lasers aren't available, sadly.

Best fix method is to acquire a good CDC3 (ebay?), and use a guide in our Maint Guides to swap over machanism.

i have the same problem with mine. why do they fail early if they play cd'rs? (ones you make yourself) what is the cure? mine recognises all the discs but then wont play any!! (again, all cdr's) then i put one disc in on its own and it worked bang on, and yes, this is a cdr!! so is there an easy cure, i.e a cleaner or something or can i use other blank discs that will work??

thanks

The laser focusing coils are overstretched trying to focus on CDRs, causing them to fail.

Once they have failed/failing, you will find it gets worse and worse, and will even struggle to play pressed CDs.

Solution is replacement of the unit, as spares no longer available  :'(

you dont need the code and can be purchased a bit cheaper if you can find a ccr 600 for example
