It's probably either a faulty solenoid or a fault with the wiring.
Does it work when the car is deadlocked (two presses of the lock button)?

By the way, does your internet service provider charge by the word?

Does the button even try to move? May be lucky and be able to lubricate it but, as said, probably either the solenoid or wiring

First thing to check would be for chaffed wires in the rubber umbilical where it passes from the car body into the door.
Open the door and look in-between the hinges, peel back the rubber trunking and check the condition of the wiring loom.
If that looks o.k. then it's a case of stripping down the door and checking for voltage at the solenoid connections, if you have voltage then try lubricating, as said, but chances are you need a new solenoid.

If you do get to the point of checking for power at the solenoid then be aware that you will need to operate the c/l whilst the circuit tester/meter is attached.

If lazy, lube lock. If dead, swap motor as well.

By the way, I have two spare solenoids in the rear doors of my 1999 Omega... I guess they are the same as the front doors?
