ok well, I had a mint 1996 2.0 but i fried the engin, so i bought an 1998 doner car and fitted the engin from that into it along with the ecu, aerial and chip. The problem is that it wont start, it turns over normally but it is not getting fuel nor is it sparking. Has anny one encounterd this problem before? If anny one could shed some light on this problem it would be grate because its driving me round the bend :-/ :-/

Sounds to me like an electrical issue, something not connected properly, have you doubled checked all the wiring etc?
-
yes all the wiring is connected, could it be immobilized?
-
Im not 100% sure on what the immobiliser cuts, fuel, spark or both
Does the key definately have the chip?
-
Does the EML flash rapidly whilst you crank the engine ??? That is the indicationof immobilisor working to prevent starting
-
yes it has the chip alright, there was one thing that consernd me tho, on the 1998 car thers a small black box near the ecu box contaning 6/7 big fuses but it was not on the 1996 car
-
im not shur if the eml flashes but i will check tommorow, would this be a big problem to fix?

If the EML is flashing then the immobilsor is stopping the engine from starting.
ECU/transducer ring/key chip must all match and talk for the immobilsor to allow the engine to start
-
yes i think i know what your getting, il check that tommorow, thanks for all the help :)

dose anny one know what this box is for, its in the 98 car but not the 96. I did not transfer it when i swaped engins.Could this be stopping my car from starting?:(

Did you swap the immobiliser ECU that clips onto the ignition lock barrel?
This, the chip in the key and the engine ECU must match. Why did you swap the engine and ECU instead of just the engine?
