In the r/h rear light hatch of my estate I found an "aerial" connection, and a multiplug. Broomies mate has the same, but his is under the rear window in a space left to fit something in a plastic moulding.
What is it for??

Something to do with the tow bar connection maybe :question :-/

Funnily enough, Mike, I looked at this plug again today with question marks floating above my head.
It's a small coaxial type/BNC type (but neither of these) connector and a small grey multiplug.
I'm sure not, but was the Omega ever 'loomed' up for DAB?

probably an old cellphone headset antenna connection

Its for the "Onstar" system - which never quite made it over here.

Diamond! Thanks for that! Was starting to pickle my already poorly brain! ;D

AHA!!!
so THAT'S what it is......................!!

If you notice, the CCRT700 has an Onstar button.
The Catera had it as did many GM cars in the US. Its a standalone GPS assisted support system which can track/disable/unlock the car should needs be.
It works well - so quite why it never made it here I dont know.
