Its not clear what you are trying to do - fit a ncdc from another car into a saloon? With or without bose?

I would not trust an NCDC to the post nowadays without going overboard on packaging.

YIp i was thinking about retro fitting it into a non bose car.but today i had a look at the bose wiring(the first time i looked,i thought,i would have no chance of getting it to work.)it looks simple, plus cost free.I will start another thread just to confirm what i thought today when looking at the harness. ;D :D :y

Retrofitted one to the CD Estate but I also fitted the Bose which meant building a sub loom to break out the speaker outputs, +12V etc etc via a grafted in kick panel connector as non-Bose facelift cars don't have this connector in place unlike the pre-facelifts.

The extra wiring from thw NCDC to Display is minimal for a GID  :y

would i be right in thinking there 19 wires that need joining 8 speakers in ,8 speakers out and 1 earth/0 volts 1 ing live and 1 perment live  thats for the bose??? if that makes sense :D

Check the wiring diags for your radio, as the bose amp remote connection does vary...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're going to reconfig. the head unit to be non-bose and install in a car that doesn't have Bose the speaker outputs will just connect to the existing loom?

Might need some tweaking of the display wiring, as said, of course....

Yep, was just trying to point out that if the OP did want to look into Bose'ing the car then there is a bit more to do on a facelift!  :y

I was going to put it into a non bose car.But i have had another look at the bose wiring harness and believe i could retrofit that aswell,as i've got the speakers amp wiring etc.Now thinking about it,its becoming more of a  challenge.  :y

I understand that theres no plug and play on the facelifts for the bose system.i have got some of the wiring from the radio to kick panel and a few spare,36 outlet connectors to make, hopefully a working loom :y

Ideally you need a 36 ISO male and female fully wired (A trafficmaster sub-loom is the best solution) then take your tails for the screen and Bose link from the Male end (which the cars loom will now plug into).

This can then be tucked on the r/h side of the console (the only place where there is space.

I found the easiest way to install the cabling to the kick panel connector was to make up your loom from the trafficmaster sub loom, install it and route the cabling out along the original cabling route and under the steering column / around the pedal box (taking particular care to make sure nothing snags) then 'graft' the kick panel connector on afterwards. There isn't an option to make the complete loom up first then install because there just isn't the room to feed any of the connectors through the route required.

some quick Questions.Q1 after the speakers have been though the amp can i join back up with existing speaker wires/Or do you, extend the thicker wires to each door.Q2 On the car harness the four sets of speaker wires branch off to the earth( 0 volts)for the radio.can i put these to an earth ie the body? hope with makes sense. cheers charlie :y

Q1 Yep, the speaker outputs from the radio go to the bose amp and the return outputs fromthe amp go to the speakers.

Q2 On a OEM Bose install the speaker outputs from the head unit are caried in two core shielded cable, the shield goes to 0V.

ON q1 after the speaker wires have been routed to the amp, can the out wires be routed back to the main harness?.also what picture or abbr on the radio is the remote wire? cheers charlie

Yes, On my loom I used a trafficmaster loom, cut the speaker outputs, soldered flyleads to both ends, routed them down to the kick panel then soldered them to the kick panel connector I obtained from a breaker.

Some of them have perforations to allow you to cut the holes out.

The TM loom needs a tweak for the display IIRC.

//TB scuttles around looking for a TM loom he modified earlier, but buggered if he can find it ;D ;D ;D  - info gleanable from wiring diags :y

Screen end, I use a bit of phone cable or cat5 wrapped around (from memory) pin 1 and pin 34 to save modifying anything that end.
