I'll be in the process of putting some aftermarket seats in my project car (another mig). However these don't have airbags in the seats, and I would like to disabled the error warning on the seat side, but still have it working for the steering & passenger side airbag.
I'm assuming the small yellow two-wired plug is to do with the seat airbags, and if so, can anyone advise if I can put in a resister or diode, or what ever I need to fool the ecu into thinking the seats have airbags, and so cancel the airbag light.
If so, what would the resister/diode rating need to be ?.
I'm not into electronics so not too complicated with the explanation please - Thanks.

Another way to do it would be to replace the airbag e.c.u. (mounted in the centre of the car, under the centre console/armrest area), with one from a lower spec car that doesn't have seat airbags.

Spec as nothing todo with how many airbags the car as,all facelifts have four airbags, :y

early pre miniface lift don't. ;)

Also, knowing GM, and the fact that Siemens make most, if not, all of GM's SRS systems I guess other models may have suitable systems.

This sounds like the way to go forward then. By using a pre miniface Airbag ecu. :y

I think the seatbelt pretensioners are different, so may not work...
each airbag circuit normally runs at about 2.5 ohms resistance.

Erm... didn't think about the pre-tensioners side of it.
Well, have nothing to lose by getting a spare yellow plug & putting a 2.5 resister across the leads, and see if the airbag light lights up. If it does, guess I'll have to reset, and try something else. :-?
