Three things to check:

1) does the battery in your keyfob need changing?

2) Is the Bonnet Alarm Switch still in it's proper upright position?

3) Your Powersounder might be failing?

These two links are for the powersounder.

This is the Bonnet Alarm Switch (ringed very shakily in red at bottom right of the picture ;D)

Hi, yes the bonnet alarm switch you mentioned is intact and upright but the rubber boot surround has split , my key fob is ok ... so looks like possibly the power sounder batteries ?

I think my money's on the power sounder.

Agree with Kevin. When my power sounder started to fail I got exactly the symptoms you are describing!!

Hi Guys, I had a problem with my alarm which kept going off, usually late at night. Also, when exiting the car, you would get a beep from the alarm when you shut the driver's door.
My Vauxhall dealer didn't know why, but finally found that the battery on the alarm board needed replacing (the beep on exit was the car's way of telling you to replace the battery - a shame Vauxhall didn't mention that in the car's handbook!)
The dealer stung me for a new alarm board as the battery was soldered in place. (It solved the problem, but I suspect the battery could have been replaced.)

And you'd have been correct! ;)

Hmm, thought so! Any idea where this battery is? Is this the one in the Powersounder, or is there yet another lurking somewhere? :(
