Title: Change display to colour on facelift
Post by: fatbob on 08 October 2010, 19:12:22
Hi guys - tried searching for this topic, but couldn't find it..

I'd like to change the display on my facelift Omega.  It's a 1999 and the stereo i've got in there now is the original (ccr?)2008.  The cd change doesn't work and is irreparable apparently.
I'm not so bothered about keeping the same head unit, but would like whatever I change it to to look original in the car.
Is this possible? and where could I maybe get a display and also, if I need it, a head unit?
Cheers
Mike

Only the NCDC series of HU's support the CID display. You'd need a HU and CID, and some tech 2 work to get it all paired to your vehicle and working. Possibly some extra wiring. I know on later facelifts the CID plug is there, but I think on earlier one's this isn't the case.

CID RGB Plug generally only found on late Elites.

Sounds like a nightmare Josh... Being over here, I don't know anybody who'd do that reasonably either.
Sorry - I'm a newbie - what's all the initials stand for? NCDC, CID?
Thanks for the reply Josh

I hadn't seen you were in Spain, oops  :-[

NCDC is the name of the unit, so it's either the NCDC 2013 or the NCDC 2015 which has a telematics unit in the glovebox. A CID is a colour info display. If you were in the UK, a trip to one of the tech 2's on here would probably sort you out. But I suspect over in Spain it'd be much harder to get sorted.

Not too easy getting tech stuff done cheaply here...

Would I be able to keep the bose speakers? (don't wanna have to buy new amp & speakers too!

NCDC series can be programmed to Bose config
