Title: Petrol gauge
Post by: our_house on 27 October 2010, 21:32:29
When I start the car the petrol gauge always reads zero. It continues to read zero for several minutes before suddenly rising to the correct level. Is this normal? is it about to give up?

thanks.

Doesn't sound normal to me, should start going up to 'true' reading within a few seconds of ignition on.

Have a look here (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1242500983) especially my reply #2, nice free fix if it's the same sort of problem.

I think both gauge and the computer get the same reading from the tank sensor :-/

If I am right then it might just be a poor connection at the multi-plug on the back of the instruments. I would try easing the instruments out and re-seating them to get a better connection.
