hello all, so have finally got around to fitting my head unit (pioneer) and would like to know if i just use a normal iso adapter will this work i know this is a naff question but i am not too bothered about the steering wheel controls and really don't want to spend another €40 on the adapter for it or am i just being tight? how often do people use the steering wheel controls? :-/

When I did mine, I spent quite a bit on an adaptor for the screen and steering controls....
But all down to personal preference, I dont regret 1p of it, the next person wont see the point.
for your other question, yes, normal iso adaptor should work, was in the box with mine, you will just need to swap the bullet connectors on the red to yellow wires though to swap the permanent and switched live :y

I almost never, ever touch the stereo when I'm driving (or, at least, when the car is in motion) so all the time in my case ;D

Certainly not in the minority there then my friend !!
Steering controls offer a great way of altering the settings and volume control of the stereo without having to take your eyes off the road and your hands off teh wheel.
Oh, and the interfaces are such a huge part of our business that I couldn`t really say otherwise

As a long distance driver i use the steering wheel controls all the time much safer to use and some times you can get the kit cheap on ebay. :y

i use steering wheel controls all the time, I splashed the cash on a steering wheel control adaptor, but did'nt bother with the screen adaptor.
Normal ISO adaptor but you may need to swap the live feeds, adaptor should allow you to switch yellow/red wire easily

I certainly use the steering wheel controls more than the ones on the stereo...

yes i think you're right i probably use them more than i think and the positioning of the stereo inthe opel isn't the best so i have bitten the bullet and bought one €46.00 :( but i geuss it's a one off expense.
