Good afternoon all
At 4.30am this morning me and missus were woken up by some unsociable begger playing music very loud from their car. After waiting for about 3 or 4 mins, I went outside to see who it was to find that the music was coming from my car - Omega 2001 2.2 petrol estate. The car was locked and the CD player had turned itself on and was blaring out much louder than I had been listening to about 12 hours earlier. Has anybody else had this experience and is it a common electrical fault in Omegas? I have got another "Check Auto Gearbox" problem and am going to have the codes read soon. Could the two problems be connected. By the way I wasn't dreaming and I didn't have a drop to drink last night!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Regards
Ed

If the battery is disconnected on my Miggy the radio does come-on (un-commanded) when the battery is re-connected......might your battery have a loose terminal or the voltage dropping below threshold (due to cold etc.)?

I do recall someone else reporting this happening. What head unit do you have CCR2006?
Has the push button on the volume control developed a but of a hair-trigger perhaps?

Hi Kevin
Thanks for your reply. Yes it is a CCR2006. I have just been back out and had a fiddle with the volume control - on and off push control and it feels as good as new. You have to push it quite forcefully in order for it turn on and off. Very strange.
Hi Debs, I have also checked the battery terminals and they seem fine and to be honest the temperature was quite mild last night.
Many thanks
