Is it OK to leave the Power Sounder disconnected??
For some reason it would not switch off so I disconnected the connecter to it which switched it off, but is it OK to leave it this way

You have done the right thing, as it has obviously become faulty and have been known to catch fire without warning if not removed!
No problem as such leaving it disconnected, but your insurance company should be informed of the 'alarm modification' ;) ;)

I'd remove the damn thing completely as they've been known to catch alight while sitting in a box on the parts shelf!

disconnected on all 3 of ours.
1) an insurance company is not really going to know where the power sounder is
2) Why, would they look? If the cars nicked you most likely will never see it again, accidents and such it will be last thing on their minds
3) It was like that when i bought it? ::)
4) The value of Omegas is so low, its better to unplug and take it out, removes any risk of it catching fire, which they have been known to do.

Agreed. :y

;) My blinking power-sounder was buried at sea (went into a bucket of water) after weeks of random false alarms drove me to the point of insanity :y....`twas the first (of many) Miggy-problems that this superb forum has helped me remediate! ;)
After seeing the results of Jimbob and Ljay`s powersounder fire, I would always remove one from any car I owned! ;)

Blimey! I'd disconnected mine but never considered it could catch fire.
Wonder if I can unbolt it without having to take that retched wiper off again ...
