Title: the stereo goes on and off

hmmmm how peculiar when ever i adjust the height of the steering wheel "because im short" the stereo  will go off i i put it up and back on when i bring it back down any one scene or heard of this before?

would suggest a problem with the wiring to your steering controls for the stereo, taking the cowling off and having a look around may reveal if its chafing anywhere.

Do you have radio control buttons on the steering wheel?

yea i do really need to spend a weekend on her getting her tip top shes a beautiful car obviously with some neglectful previous owners :(

Sounds like a trapped wire from the steering controls as others have said
