hello mate, you just need the speakers amp and the loom, then just a case of joining the speaker wires from headunit to amp, then from amp to speakers, realy straight forward.

Head units also need to be configured by Tech 2 to work in a Bose system.

prefacelifts never had it. Only minifacelifts and facelifts.

Facelifts, unless factory fitted with Bose lack the wiring from Headunit to kick panel, making it a pain to retrofit

You will also need the Estate Bose Sub Box, fits in rear panel for an Estate, there a bit harder to find.
 ;)

It uses the signal from the Head Unit, but not in the normal way, different levels and impedance from the norm, plenty of in-depth previous posts on this if your interested.

If Bose were to ever have a hit single, it would be 'I did it my way'

Chris.

Different volume and response curve.

Additionally, all NCDC and some CCR200x are configurable.

Some CCR200x and all CDR200x CANNOT be configured for Bose.

so how come you can retro fit the headunit from bose system to a car without bose with out tech 2 then (not using the bose system, but the cars original speakers), surely if a head unit needs tech 2 to operate bose system if not fitted from factory then a head unit from bose system should need tech 2 to operate in a car without bose as it uses different signal!, yes/no?

Yup, to work correctly, the headunit should be reprogrammed for non-bose.

All vauxhall bose capable headunits have a non bose setting with the notable exception of the ccr800...

ah right i see, i have fitted a ncdr 2011 that used bose to a vectra with just normal speakers, it plays and sounds quite good. so if i had the head unit configured to non bose would this improve the sound quality? like wise if the bose system is fitted to a non bose config head unit would it still produce sound through the speakers then as i get sound through mine on a bose config head unit with out bose speaker set up?
for some reason i cant get "My Naff Code Reader" to connect to it, to even have try, checked to make sure i fitted the diagnostic wire correctly too :(

You will get sound.

"My Naff Code Reader" was never sold legally in the UK, so no discussion of using that on this site.

Got to be honest. I have an elite estate and a and mV6 estate, one has bose, one doesn't. Whats the difference, not a lot really and for all the work a decent aftermarket head and speakers will sound good if not better than the bose. Its a lot of work for not a lot of gain. Infact the biggest problem with the omega is the positioning of the speakers, the door speakers are generally covered by legs, and the rear door speakers are also cover by leg!

In my old carlton estate it fitted a decent Pioneer head unit, some extra tweeters in the roof lining and some decent 2 ways in the doors. There werent any speakers in the doors, theyre in the bootlid which is actually better as they act as a natural sub. Pissed all over the bose system and didnt need tech two.

I kinda see yer point, but the Bose system was much older than the MV6 system.
