Post by: felix777 on 18 February 2011, 20:50:41
hi guys..i am considering getting and installing a 2 din pioneer avh 3200 bt for my 02 plate omega as an upgrade...has anyone fitted one of these units and if so,,how did you get on with it, and would you recommend it?..it would be very handy with the bluetooth option and it would keep my daughter entertained in the front on a journey :)...i have read that you have to connect the light green wire in the harness to an earth to make it play dvd,s while mobile :P thanks in advance for replies,,,kev..

Just check that you don't have the Bose system... Probably not as you haven't got an Elite but IIRC it was an option. :-/

If no Bose then shouldn't be a massive problem, if you have then you'll have quite a bit of work to do (unfortunately) as you'll need to replace all the speakers, some wiring and the amp

Nice unit, and the only thing you may struggle with is the amount of wiring on the back as the Omega does not have much room at the rear, be carefull not to trap any wires as you push it into place.

and connecting the green handbrake wire to earth is a wise move indeed !

To prevent you from accessing all features whilst on the move, for safety, there is often a wire that is connected to the handbrake to make sure that you are parked up before certain button can be used.

Pain in the arse doesn`t even come close to describing this, as to be expected to pull over every time you want to do something is just plain unrealistic.

Hence connect the wire to ground, and all buttons will function all of the time - just be carefull whilst driving.
