Title: Alternator type
Post by: wanguttiz on 16 March 2011, 08:47:14
Hello guys,
how do I know what type of alternator is fitted to my 2.5V6 without removing it? Catalogs says, it can be DELPHI, DELCO-REMY or several types of BOSCH. Alternator bearings are getting noisy and i want to get new ones before removing the alternator and taking the old ones out. So, is there a way to get some info about alternator by VIN or smth?

All the 2.5 and 3.0 V6 ones are Bosch.

Cant remember the bearing size off hand (its on here somewhere) but they are a standard size and cost under a tenner for the pair.
