I have a '53 2.2 GLS, which has the basic Dash Display unit fitted . . is it a TID ? It looks as though it has two horizontal screens but only the top one displays anything.
Apart from the missing pixels the temperature is showing anything between -50C and -10C. I've replaced the outside air temperature sensor but this has had no effect.
Is the display knackered or is there some other "brain" driving the Display unit which needs attention ?
Also . . .
I've now been supplied twice with a radio mast with a thread too small for the base unit on the roof. The Vauxhall dealer stated that there were two sizes one 3mm and a 4mm or 5mm thread. The common one is the smaller of the two, and guess which one's I now have ? Does anyone out there know the correct spec of the lasrger of the two . . and where I can get one ?
Thanks,
Nickh

firstly have you changed outside temp sensor for a known working one?
if it is good check big black connector which lives behind passenger side bumper up towards the headlight also wiring for signs of chaffing etc :y

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the radio "mast" in the rear screen? Roof is GSM? Unless you have an estate.....?

Fixed !
It seems I was a bit too premature with my assessment of the new sensor . . the following morning I got in the beast, and "Lo . . and Behold" 10.5 degrees C ! Seems that the system needed a bit of "down time" to sort itself out.
Oh and yes I do have the Estate version . . still not got the right size mast. I'm told on good authority that the thread is 6mm.
Thanks for the helpful advice though , , I'm sure I'll have more problems for y'all.
