Hi all,
Replaced the ABS/TC ECU on saturday, and popped it round to TB for programming. Thanks J :y
Came back from Brackley tonight and the cruise control does not work. Worked ok before ABS probs, and did work intermittently when ABS/TC light went out but stopped when light came back on.
Does it have a fused circuit or is there another secret :y
-
Thats bizarre, I cleared out all the codes in the cruise as well (basically a no speed signal, presumably from the ABS failure).
Not disconnected the cruise throttle cable?
Failing that, it would be a coincidence, and I don't like them. Are you popping up this way again soon?

Hi J...
We are over next weekend again, mate :y

Not sure if I'm about, but if I am, more than willing to take a gander at it :y
-
Great stuff mate, :y
I'll have a nose around under the bonnet to see if I can find something not attached ;)
Other than that, I'll pop round, pot luck basis.
We are there from mid Sat till Sunday night, then back Monday morning till Monday night. :y

In a reply earlier, TB mentions disconected Cruise Control cable.
Can anyone tell me where I should be looking, cuz if its fixable by me (if indeed that is the problem) it would save me bothering TB :y
Had a look under the bonnet, but to be honest I ain't got a clue!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D

the cruise cable pulls the throttle butterfly at the same place as the main accelerator cable. Do you know how to rev the engine from under the bonnet? If you do, there should be two cables there, main accelerator with a cup & ball and the cruise cable on the inside of it. :y
I'd be checking the loom where it plugs into the cruise itself first.

Just been and had a look. Yep, found them, both there....the outside one goes into a rubber cable and the inside one goes to a multiplug ? then into a big silver box :y
Can't see anything amiss. :(
During the changing of the ABS ECU, is there anything that side that may have got fubared ;)

They're both cables inside a sleeve, like a push bike brake cable ;) i can't think what the 'silver box' is though :-/ :-/
Although I agree with Jamie re coincidences it does sound like one :-/ :-/
-
Ok Andy.....
Thanks for input. :y Just been and had another look.....cruise cable is as you say, but the 'silver box' is just a surround, obviously protecting the unit which the cable goes into, from damage.
Worth a try, as I don't like putting on people :y

I know which bit you mean now, it's ally & where the cable outers are secured. ;) :y :y
-
Yes mate.....Not sure about ally....just looks like a steel guard protecting a control unit and there is an electrical plug going into the unit with quite a few wires on it as well as the cable
Can't take pics...phone not modern ;D

We're not talking about the same thing then :-/

Terbert - from that box you describe, follow a (mechanical, no electrical) cable up and to the throttle at the front of the plenum, where the main throttle cable attaches to the throttle mechanism. Is that still in tact?
-
Cable attached mate......I tried a bit of pressure on the cable but there was tension, so it does not seem to be broken. :y
I am afraid I shall have to bring it round mate at the weekend. :(
At the end of the day, its not a piece of equipment that I use alot, so if its naff, so be it

All working now, see http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1301858765/0#0
