Since changing to a new aftermarket Head Unit  the display on the dash loses the date whenever the radio is turned on - no surprises there that will happen of course with such a change.

My question is:- is there any way that you can bypass this function so that the date stays up all the time (whether radio on or not)?

 Anyone know of a way?

yes, you can cut a wire behind the mid.
or tech2 can reprogram to say no radio present.

Cut rather than disconnect? (is diconnecting poss or is it part of a plug?) And which one?  :-/
As a person with zero knowledge of what's what behind the head unit  :-[ (and it all looks like spagetti junction anyway) anyone know? :-[

Hmmm, in that case, maybe reprogramming is a safer option ;D

Same happens with OE head units in both my Astra & Omega .......  :-? :-?

Yes, because the Radio information appears there instead. With non OE radio, this just blanks.

Yes I'm inclined to agree - but if I can be directed to the right one that should be ok too.
So is a cut or a disconnect and which wire?  :(
