Albs, all you need is the plug that goes to the ballast unit. Snip it back as far as possible, should be a yellow cable and a brown one. These two splice into the yellow & brown on your car. Don`t forget to swap your level motors over

Back of the HID`s is the ballast box, next to it is a black oblong plastic box with one end curved/rounded with an electrical connector on it. That`s the level motor. Remove connector, turn motor through about 90 degrees and pull out. Both of these need to be replaced with your level motors

Why ? :-/

Because the motors on the HID`s are electronically controlled by the HID ecu & level sensors therefore they won`t work with your lighting loom hence the need to swap them over ::)

So should I leave my standard light switch on the car and retain the option to adjust the light with the knurled wheel thing. ?

Yep, hence the need to swap the motors over. If you want the HID`s to be self-levelling it`s a hell of a job as you would need the HID ecu, both level sensors, all the loom (virtually impossible) plus a Tech II chat to program your MID for HID`s.
The level motors are just a swap out & plug & play
