Title: ccr600 question
Post by: danzigfan on 24 April 2011, 12:53:37
Hello, I still have philips ccr600 fitted in a dash, but I replaced speakers with new. Now I have 165mm in front doors and two  170mm in the fifth door (it's an estate). The speakers in the front doors sound great, but in the back they don't have that power, barely hear basses. Is the line out for back speakers adjusted for 130mm midlle tones as were original? Should I amplify the signal for speakers in the back?

Any speakers in the tailgate would have had an amplifier -

I`m probably not the best to advise what was in there as standard, but generally the subwoofers were either powered by BOSE amp if you had the BOSE system, or by a Philips amp if you had the earlier system.

The speakers were original and they were in the back doors, I just  replaced cables and pulled them into the tailgate door. Those new 170mm were in the front doors and playing really nice,  now they are connected to the rear speakers wiring and they seem to play only middle tones. If I'm right, radio output for backdoor speakers plays only middle tones. At least it's my explanation

Oh and there was nothing in the tailgate door. I made the box and adjusters for speakers of this size myself, maybe it wasn't good idea after all... :-/
