which wires do i have to power up with unit out of car to remove cd holder :-?

wouldnt like to hazard a guess Joff, but I think there is some kind of diagram on the top (or the back ?) which might be of help. :-/

put another head unit in today but forgot :-[ to take the cd's out first, both 2013 and gid removed so not paired with the screen i have in car now, so will have to remove both and replace both with other units that are paired so the wife can have her miky bubble back ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D not that i had it on at all ::)

Jon, I would have thought by sticking just your old HU in you should get power to it. That`s all you need

Belt and bits Rob wont take long to take out new unit and put old one in so she can have her bubble back then back to the toys with the new one happy days :y

You only need the +12V and 0V to power it up. You just have to use the button to switch it on as you have no ignition sense.

If you put the HU in with the wrong screen the units will still power up but you will get a message and beep on the screen. No damage will be done and when you put the matching HU back in it will all work. If you ever have the car Tech II'd you may find some CANbus pairing errors but operation will not be affected.
