hi ,, ive just the took instrument clocks out to fit two 509 bulbs ( new from stealer's) in to the back of the MID as only two ever worked . remove multi plug to get better access , fitted bulbs ok and re fitted multi plug .. now i have NO display at all :'( checked fuse and looked ok but changed it to be safe removed multi plug and refitted and locked in :'( )
now not only is my MID in the dark but i'm also .. :'(
any thoughts ???
question .. dose the multi plug wire have a plug at both ends or dose one end go to the MID and other in to main wiring loom ?

Do any of the instrument illumination lamps (speedometer/revs/fuel) work if you turn the lights on?
If you shine a torch at the display (with the ignition on) are the digits working?
I would start by re-seating the instruments to check that the big connector on the back has made contact. If that doesn't work then take the instruments out again and check for bent pins on the little connector on the back of the MID.

Are you sure that the connector is fully home? The lever bar can sometimes play tricks - making it look like its in when it isnt.
Just a thought.
