right i bought a bose system with all the loom speakers and amp off a mate, i fitted all the loom down the inner sill and all the speakers and amp and when i came to fit the head unit there is 2 black plugs like a normal stereo and a red plug and the red plug dosnt match up to the 3rd plug behind the dash am i missing somethig the mv6 didnt have a stereo in when i bought it,so i dont know what should be in, any help would be much apprieciated, thanks

It'll be for the fone setup which would have been standard on the elite with that stereo from new. From memory they run a small speaker in the passenger footwell, and would cut the stereo out when a call came in, maybe thats what the red plug loom does.
Theres only 2 connectors attached to the cage usually for the ccr600, which the car would have had originally.
My own experience has been, I bought a ccr800 bose/philips headunit from an elite, that plugged in the same as my original ccr600.

Top block runs cd changer, display, telematics, steering controls.
I think you may also need a specific display for the CCRT700 ??
:-/
-
What model (CD/CDX) etc is your car?
-
its a mv6.
-
the back off the ccr800 looks the same as the plugs i have in the dash now, if i got a ccr800 headunit and plugged it in would it work the rest of the bose system ive installed, speakers ,cd ,and amp?
-
The CCRT will need wiring mods, a replacement screen and a replacement CDC2
A CCR800 will fit in place of your CCR600, use the same screen and CDC2.
-
its probably a thick question but whats a cdc2? and will the ccr800 power all the bose amp and speakers and loom, because i got all that from the same car as the ccrt700
-
the ccr800 is for the bose setup ;)
cdc2 is the 6 disk changer in the boot.
-
thanks for that its much apprieciated! :)
-
isn't the changer different between the two head units - both cdc2's but different versions?

Yup, hence if he uses ccr800, he can reuse his original cdc2 from his ccr600 ;)
-
Agreed, but if he has a 700 CDC2 its the wrong one ...........
-
ive got both of them so its good times! :)
