Long shot, but any thoughts with this bloody thing.
Harmon Karden drive and play.

TB and I went to great lengths to prep connections for this, and other things.
Only to find the screen didn't respond. But the control knob did lite up. Fixed the broken wires to the screen and it now lights up as well but gives an error code and the message please wait. It never sparks up fully and cycles the error message every few seconds. Only further thing I can find is one of the LEDs on the knob circuit board is dim.

Oh and some burning around what looks like a heat sink? This nut holds it on and looks most burnt, although it doesn't really show in the pic

Some other pics while i was at it just in case somebody sees something.
Repaired wires, I assumed the yellow goes to the un insulates wire in the main cable. It was unattached

It makes no odds if the screen and knob input plugs are swapped. Error message is the same. It's not seeing something...? :-/

Fues had blown when we looked prior to attempted power up. Fuse on the board is not blown afaict. Bridging it does nout.
Any thoughts? :'(

Hmm... Sold as all OK? And recently?
Anyway... Not really sure what to suggest now as have no experience of them other than helping Humbucker (or ilovemyelite as he was then!) fit one to "The Mothership" ::) ::)

Error code of some sort.
Seller didn't know if it worked. Took a punt. It only cost a tenner.
As said, found just prior to install that the fuse to the unit had blown. So was not happy about something.

For a tenner it's worth a play then... If not, you've not lost much ::)
Is it giving any hit towards the error? Code or anything?

Yep, bottom left of screen shows 02,1

Sure you'll have found it but this is all I could drag up through Google

Seems that is an error in communication between the unit and the control knob

Mmmyeah, seen that. So took control knob apart.... Got down to the board without finding anything obvious ( to someone who knows nothing about electronicary)

Bring it to Lakes, I'll take it away and have a look. Unless Kevin Wood feels he hasn't enough projects on at the moment (serves him right for having his fantastic 'gentlemens room' for all his electronics/HAM/etc stuff.
Be a shame, now we've fitted the aerial wiring, not to get it working....
...hmmm, a long shot, reckon it needs to be plugged into its aerial?
-
So is the Telematics loom in situ now?

So is the Telematics loom in situ now?
Yes, but not wired up at the audio side of things, due to needing a mixer circuit to match the impedence.

So is the Telematics loom in situ now?
Oh, and we might have to tweak the mic wiring, but we'll worry about that once the audio is in place :y

Worth a try.
Yes, I quite like it actually.
I'll get another one if this ones fubar.
Although if replacing I wonder if there's iPhone specific one?
Or is that too many phone inputs? ;D

Yes it is. Waiting mixer and final connections. TB (and I ) was very impressed. He wants your baby's. ;D
Seriously though, very well done Andy. Excellent job, thank you. :-*

Does that mean you're off the hook for a while then? :-X :-X ::) ::) :D :D

;D I'll make sure Mrs VXL V6 is always by my side to protect me!

As Gayboy said, the loom couldn't have been better.
The loom from the Telematics was pefect length, and there was plenty on the one fro the HU.
All went together seemlessly. Only slight issue is there is a problem with the Mic, so might have to move a pin.
-
Good, glad it was OK, difficult to judge how far the boot end of the loom would end up at the front. Was limited by the cable I could obtain (used two prefacelift Autochanger cables)
I have some various bits left over from an old telmute lead so could probably make up another mic interconnect if required or if there is some spare shielded cable I guess we could hard wire it up.
Be interested to see if there is much cellular noise once it's all up and running.
