The colour codes were from Witter website, which I used to get my bar installed...

I suspect a mis-print then, as there are two colours for the rear fogs  ;) ;)

Another problem, I,ve connected the towbar wires where the previous owner had cut when removing, but they go into a circuit type board, and at the other end the colours are different, they are
brown
yellow
2 lots of grey
Blue
Black
Green
White
Red,
all of these are a much thinner wire, and also coming from this is an orange wire with an inline fuse on and another white one, which is from the original cable but not going through the circuit board.
Hope I've explained that well enough.
Or can I just not bother with this box?????

Sorry to be a thicko  :y

Although not positive, this sounds like a split charge relay...  :-/

Don't think its a split charge as the OP is listing way too many wires .... split charge will have 2 in - power and return and maybe 3 out max IMHO .. and the inputs should be fairly beefy gauge ....

I reckon it could be a by-pass relay .....  :-/ :-/

far to large to see anything properly .... sorry .. :(

EDIT .. looked at it a diffeent way .. and I still don't recognise it ....  the right hand side looks like the output as it has 7 wires... 6 + white for earth .. and 12N/ 12S cables have 7 cores. Left hand side must be inputs from the car systems ...  but quite why all the I/Cs I don't know...   :(

Although I've never seen a by-pass relay, I think I was right.
You don't need it & you can bin it.  :y

looking at that again .. I wonder if its some sort of "power amplifier" ... as the input wires are quite small in comparison to the outputs, and the large input on the left looks like a power source ???

Which why I suspect it's a 7 way by-pass relay.  :-/

Assuming using 12N & 12S sockets  ::)

Ha ha, your going to hate me,  cos I'm not using the sockets, where do I connect the live to?
Think I shouldn't have been so tight and got this fitted professionally.

Do you mean that you're not using the OE socket in the boot? That's OK, you just need to make a proper connection ie NOT using Scotchlock connectors. You could chop the socket off & solder your  7 core cable to the individual wires.

Which live? If you mean for your newly discovered relay, just bin the relay. If you mean the feed for the caravan charging & fridge, then there is a larger red cable in the loom to the socket in the boot & put a fuse in under the dash.

You might wish to use screw type cable connectors FIRST .. to make sure everything works as it should, then solder/shrink wrap once you KNOW it is right .......  just a thought  ...   :)

I'm just connecting single electrics for trailer, so does that mean I dont need to connect the thick red live?

Correct.
Just be aware that you pick up a live feed for the brakes (yellow/black) The feed at the OE socket is via a relay base up front under the dash. It's to extend the brake light check to your trailer - I suspect you won't want to do this  ::) so just find a feed from the back of the lights themselves.  :y :y
