I love my facelift CDX to bits, we just valeted it inside and it is an absolutely stunning car. there is no other word for it.
however, I need an estate to carry dogs.
I am so upset at the thought of parting with my meega, that I'm tempted to buy a complete nail of an estate purely for dog transportation....

Do it!

I guess it would be some consolidation if I could find an estate in equally good condition in star silver with a V6 engine - there seem to be none about at all for under the £2k mark, which I suspect will be my budget..

Same thing here really, the estate is great, more power, bose, estate so dog can go to.
But i still love my 2.2 manual to bits, don't want to sell it!

Easy answer really, get rid of the Dogs :y

there's really no better suggestion than to buy a sheddy estate, i'd even suggest something different to an omega which wouldnt require the love you'd give the CDX!
crappy 1991 ford escort estate or something similar! something cheap to run and if needs be, cheap to repair!

i think his missis would disagree to that

getting rid of dogs is definately not an option, we love them to bits.
I am seriously considering getting a nail of an old 405 diesel estate, or simelar, and running it on neat chip oil, now it's totally legal :D

the thing with this is that you will endup using the estate more then your mig........trust me this is how we ended up. and it costs way to much to run, maintain and keep two cars.......just keep coping for the timebeing and keep those eyes open for the right estate to come along. i wouldnt part with my beast now.

That's exactly what I said to you before! Keep the Omega and run a heap as cheap as possible, when something expensive happens just scrap it and get another heap.
One of the local auctions to here seems to put loads of cheap cr&p cars through with long T&T, just run them till they drop then throw them.

An Astra diesel estate? Mine's on 50/50 diesel & chip oil & judging by the smell, over 12 months down the line, has been used as a kennel in the past! :(
