Title: Battery drain - alarm fault?
Post by: stumoz on 31 August 2011, 15:05:45
Hello everyone!
I am currently driving a 2000 MV6 and the problem I'm having is the battery keeps going flat, now I know there is a drain on it cos I can hear it!
Its a 'ticking' noise even when the engine is off. I've opened the bonnet and it seems to be coming from the drivers side under the black cylinder (servo?). Ive pulled out the middle of the 3 big fuses next to the battery which has stopped it but central locking dosen't work and car will turn over but not start, so don't know if it is anything to do with the alarm? Any way any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Sounds like the power sounder to me. Get rid of it before it causes any more problems, IMHO. :y
