Just got in from doing an overnighter at work, i was up some twelve rung stop ladders when the first ripple happened and i thought my mate was fookin about, but then a couple of seconds later had a bis tremour that shook the whole building, exercise balls fell off their shelves, a couple of CD's slid off the top of the gym sound system and i nearly fell off the ladders,  :-?  You just don't expect it in good old Blighty, and especially when you have been at work for 23 hours solid  :(

Yes, quite a good one two....lasted a good 10 seconds for the main tremor with a smaller one to start with.

We are only about 20 miles from the epicentre.

Its the third one we have had in 5 years round here.....doom, doom, DOOM!

Some silly bint on the telly was asked about the shake this morning, she was in grantham, she said she was scared silly by the shake and that global warming was to blame  [?] She then said that she had'nt actually felt it as she was asleep at the time. "Cor bet she was scared!!!!" Me, i never felt a thing as i can sleep for England, just as i never heard a thing when we had the Hurricane and a dirty great tree went through the roof of the warehouse next to my flat. ;D :o

I slept through the 87 hurricane which sucked the loft hatch away & left a hole in the roof of my then rented flat on south coast.
Lastnight awoke 00:30 ish bunged up with a cold. Got a glass of water, plumped up the pillows, was just dozing off when i heard a turbine like noise that got louder & louder, the whole house really shook, A book & a deodorant fell off one of the bedside cabinets followed by a creaking noise :-/. Went back to sleep. Woke up @ 6am ish, flicked telly on & they were all on about it. The epicentre was in Gainsborough which is pretty much Notts./Lincs. border so close enough for me! ::)

Epicentre was in th middle of a farmers field in Market Raison.....but they had somebody in Gainsborough on TV.

It amazes me all these chimneys falling down and then you see the state of the houses they are on and the lack of mortar and they would have probably dropped in the first high wind anyway!
