Title: Danny's LPG Conversion...
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 03 March 2008, 16:03:09
... I've seen you mention "in passing" on various threads that you're converting.

So let's have the gory details..

What system? Where is it being done? DIY / Company? Good cost?

Do tell ;D

Hi :D

its gone in today, (i posted in the gallery my courtesy car), there's no way i would tackle DIY so i took it to a local company which looks to be reputable (someone to blame if it goes wrong!) and they're putting me an OMVL Dream 21 multipoint SGI system in with an 80Litre cylinder tank in, which will be certified, and they actually recommended the filler be attached to the bumper and not the metalwork which i think is a good thing!!

total cost including VAT cert and courtesy car... £1250

What warrantee?

not certain, they mentioned it would have a warranty but i didnt pay attention  :-[

if they value the building they operate from, they'll give me a decent warranty

You need it mainly on the injectors

Ask them what failures they have had.

They may all be fine - just mention that you have heard some bad reports over the injector blocks (rest of kit is fine)

Considering the budget DIY lpg kits come in at around £700, its a very good price!

Its £60 for a tank of fuel these days, so save about £30 per tank on basic sums.

So roughly 41 tanks of fuel to get the money back, not bad!

well the company seem pretty good, there arent too many round here that convert to LPG but this one always seems to have cars in for new kits

their LPG is 49ppl, but i've heard a rumour i might be able to go thru a connection and get as low as 40ppl... maybe less :y
